Massimo Sacconi and Marzia Bandini were born in Florence and graduated in that city in Architecture in 1981.

In 2007, he won the Innovation & Design Award competition with the product Q3Pro by AEC Illuminazione.
In 2004, he took part in the National Competition for a lighting appliance called Luci su Via Veneto organised by the Municipality of Rome – Department of Public Works and City Maintenance.
Since 2003, he has been cooperating with Genoa University, Professor Federico Delfino and Professor Andrea Morini for the supplementing of the P.I.G. program, designed for Autostrade per l’Italia S.p.a., with a motorway tunnel lighting design software.
In 2001, he took part in the setting up of the Engineering Company, Industrial Design Progetti S.R.L. of Florence as technical manager and design coordinator.
In 2001, he started working as lighting designer for Autostrade per l’Italia S.p.a. completing the “evaluation of threshold lighting” according to the UNI 11095 standard of all 518 tunnels in operation and for most of which he also designed the lighting systems.
Between 1996 and 2000 he was technical manager of the electrical measurements laboratory of the company “Servizi & Qualità Toscana S.R.L.” of Campi Bisenzio (FI), which carries out safety inspections on lighting appliances in compliance with the European EC mark, quality assurance, according to UNI EN 45001 standards and is recognised by the European institutes NEMCO and IMQ.
In 1995, he was speaker at the seminar organised with the support of General Electric on the theme “Techno-polymers and lights in civil and car lighting”.
In 1993, in conjunction with the Monuments Service of the work of the Metropolitana Di Siena he designed the lighting of the Piccolomini Library and of Siena Cathedral.
In 1986/1987 at Florence’s Engineering University in conjunction with Professor Engineer Masotti and Targetti Sankey Spa, he conducted a research program on glare and visual comfort of building lighting.
In 1984, he was awarded the “rifletto e cambio” prize organised by General Electric Plastic S.p.a. with the following motivation “a happy combination of the quest for new aesthetic solutions and use of technical characteristics of materials”.
In 1982, his degree dissertation was published in the furnishing and architecture magazine Gran Bazaar.
Since 1981, he has been designing lighting appliances with special focus on design, right up to the production of executive drawings for the start of production. He works as a designer for the following companies: AEC Illuminazione S.r.l., Conchiglia S.p.a, EviStyle S.r.l., Fabbian S.r.l., Masca S.r.l.,Osram S.p.a., I Guzzini S.p.a., Targetti Sankey S.p.a., General Electric Plastic S.p.a., General Electric Lighting S.p.a., Tubosider S.p.a., 3M Italia S.p.a, Siteco Gmbh, Electrolux S.p.a.. He is also engaged in lighting projects. The most important are:
– For Soc. Autostrade Spa, he was involved in the lighting project for the “CAMILLINI” tunnel Florence-Bologna A1 motorway section.
– For Soc. Autostrade Spa, he was involved in the lighting project for the “Banzole” tunnel Milan-Rome A1 motorway section.
– For the ANAS (National Road Institute) Veneto Road district, he was involved in the lighting and ventilation project for the “Anime” tunnel, State Road 346 of the Pellegrino Pass.
– For the ANAS (National Road Institute) Campania Road district, he was involved in the lighting project for the “Monte Pergola” tunnel Salerno-Avellino motorway section.
– For the ANAS (National Road Institute) Calabria Road district, he was involved in the lighting project of the “Crocetta“ tunnel.
– For ACEA (Roman Electricity Company), he was involved in the lighting project of the “Lungotevere in Sassia“ underpass.
– For ACEA (Roman Electricity Company), he was involved in the lighting project for the “Parcheggio Gianicolo” interlink, external roadway.
– For ACEA (Roman Electricity Company), he was involved in the “Lungotevere Mellini” lighting project.
– For the Republic of S. Marino, he was involved in the lighting project for the “Mellin” underpass.
– For the Republic of S. Marino, he was involved in the lighting project for the “Dogana” underpass.
– For the Ministerio De Obras Publicas Cileno Direccion General de Obras Publicas, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the tunnel “Lo Prado”.
– For the Ministerio De Obras Publicas Cileno Direccion General de Obras Publicas, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the tunnel “Zapata”.
– For the Ministerio De Obras Publicas Cileno Direccion General de Obras Publicas, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the tunnel “Magramagra”.
– For the Norwegian Motorways – OSRAM DULF, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the motorway tunnel “Bijorg Tunnel” at Drammen
– For the Norwegian Motorways – OSRAM DULF, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the motorway tunnel “Oslo Fiord Tunnel” at Oslo.
– For the Municipality of Madrid – Area de Gobierno de Urbanismo,Vivienda e Infraestructuras, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the M-30 – A-3 link.
– For the Municipality of Madrid – Area de Gobierno de Urbanismo,Vivienda e Infraestructuras, he was involved in the project for the lighting of the conexion del paseo de Santa Maria de la Cabeza con the A-3, corresponding to the By-Pass Sur of the M-30.
– For the Municipality of Madrid – Area de Gobierno de Urbanismo,Vivienda e Infraestructuras, project for the lighting of the remodelacion del la Calle Costarica Y plaza de Josè Maria Soler y sus entronques with the M-30.

In 2001, she joined ID Industrial Design S.a.s. as acting partner and worked as designer of lighting appliances, with focus above all on design up to the production of executive drawings for the start of production. She worked as a designer with the following companies: AEC Illuminazione S.r.l., Siteco Gmbh, Conchiglia S.p.a, Fabbian S.r.l., Masca S.r.l., Acrilux S.r.l., 3M Italia S.p.a., Osram S.p.a., Electrolux S.p.a..
From school year 1982/83 to school year 1999/2000 she worked without interruption as a teacher of Technical Education and Artistic Education at the legally recognised ”Pio X Artigianelli” high school.
From school year 1991/92 to school year 1999/2000 she worked without interruption as Assistant Principal of the “Pio X Artigianelli” high school.
In school year 1981/82, she worked as temporary teacher of Technical Education in the following state high schools: 2nd Scuola Media Statale Di Bagno A Ripoli and Luigi Pirandello.
From November 1981 to February 1982, she worked for the Council Authorities as temporary designer Q.F.8th level (Presidential Decree 810/80).
In 1982, her degree dissertation was published in the furnishing and architecture magazine, Gran Bazaar.
In the period 1979/81, she took part in the exhibition of design theme models for the gallery “Memorie e Lughi del XX° Secolo” of Florence, of the Alchimia group of Milan.
In 1979, she took part in the competition “Inventare una Copertina” organised by the magazine Modo for a travelling exhibition in Italy.
In 1978, she took part in the competition “Annual Arango International Design Competition”. Her drawings and prototypes were exhibited at the Low Art Museum University of Miami.
In 1975, 1976, 1977,1978, 1979, she worked for the ACI Public Body of Florence as a clerk.
